Position:  Adult Health/Preparedness Coordinator/Public Health Nurse Supervisor I

Location:  Haywood County Health Department

Available:  November 22, 2010

Pay Grade:  74

Beginning Salary: $46,739 (less for trainee)

Description of Duties: Serve as Preparedness Coordinator for Haywood County Health Department.  Direct Clinical/Field Supervisor of Adult Health programs; supervise five public health nurses and two medical office assistants.


Example of Duties:

Serves as Epi Team leader/Preparedness Coordinator.

Coordinate training for Department on policy/procedure for all programs related to OSHA.

Work with departmental and local administrators in coordinating efforts of preparedness.

Coordinator for annual record audit and assist with other quality assurance components.  Participate in organizing, planning, and directing programs.

Supervise clinical areas of Family Planning/Prenatal/MCC/STD/Communicable Disease/TB/Adult Health/Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program/and Immunization Clinic programs.

For staff supervised: Assign work, enter leave hours in time keeping program each pay period and approve timecard, complete annual performance evaluation.


Minimum Education and Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a BS Degree in Nursing which includes a public health nursing rotation and three years of public health nursing experience; or graduation from and accredited school of professional nursing and four years of professional nursing experience including one year of public health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum of one year supervisory experience preferred.
