General Description of Position


The purpose of the position is to assist veterans and dependents in obtaining federal and state benefits to which they are entitled.  The position is responsible for counseling, claims, coordinating benefits, reports, and other assistance to veterans and dependents as required.  The position works within broad policy and organizational guidelines, independently plans and implements projects; reports progress of major activities through periodic conferences and meetings.


Minimum Training and Experience


Requires high school diploma, GED and formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completition of one year of college education or specialized advanced training.  Requires over one year and up to and including two years.  Must have served in the military with an honorable discharge.  Must be willing to train for certification. 


Work Hours / Benefits


This is one day a week 8:00 until 5:00.




The starting pay for the position is $11.50 per hour.  This is a part-time temporary position with no accruals.
