 General Description of Position

The purpose of the position is to assist the public in using all library facilities and services.  The position works within a general outline of work to be performed, develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.

The tasks below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class.

Checks Library materials in and out
Assists with research and location of materials and information
Register new customers; renew lending cards
Maintains shelves
Performs routine office tasks such as faxing, phoning and copying
 Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Minimum Training and Experience

The successful candidate will possess the following:
High School or GED required, some college work preferred. 
Willingness to work a diverse schedule (days, weekends, and early evening hours).
Ability to meet and successfully work with the public.
Proven positive work history.
Ability to work and learn Library computer operations
Library experience preferred.
A North Carolina Drivers License with a clean driving record.


Work Hours/Benefits



This is a part-time position, approximately 18 hours per week, no benefits. Hours will vary based upon need. 






The pay grade assigned to this position is 55 with an hourly pay of  $9.65.
