Key Dates in November 2008 Election

September 15 - Beginning date to request that an absentee ballot be sent to you by mail

October 10 - Last day to register to vote, change your party affiliation, or your address. Voter registration forms must be postmarked by, or hand delivered by this date.

October 16 - One-Stop Voting Begins*
8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. weekdays

October 28 - Last day to receive absentee requests by mail and applications
5 p.m. (For sickness or disability, the deadline is 5 p.m., Nov. 3)

November 1 - One-Stop Voting ends
1 p.m.

November 3 - All voted absentee ballots must be in the Board of Elections office
5 p.m.

November 4 - Election Day

November 14 - Board of Elections Official Canvas
11:00 a.m.

Would you like to be a poll worker?
The Haywood County Board of Elections is seeking citizens to serve as poll workers to help with the November 4 election. If you are interested, submit your name to Robert Inman, Director, at 1233 N. Main Street in Waynesville. For more information, call 452-6633.

* One-Stop Voting will NOT be held at the Haywood County Board of Elections. Instead, voters must come to the Haywood County Administrative Office Building located on Russ Avenue next to the former Bargains building.
