June 9 is deadline to register for adult soccer Print

Haywood County Recreation & Parks is now taking registrations for its Adult Summer Soccer Leagues.  As introduced last fall, this summer will feature an Open League and a Womens League.  The Open League will consist of teams with a maximum roster size of 13 people.  Unlike the previous Coed League, the Open League will not require females on the field during play but females are certainly welcome to participate.  The Womens League will also consist of teams with a maximum roster size of 13 people; however, this league will feature women only.

“The interest and participation in the Womens League has grown significantly since its inception last fall,” stated League Director, Scot Worley.  “We are excited and eager to bring this aspect to our Summer Season.”

Both leagues will have games played from June 23 – August 11 on Wednesday evenings at Allens Creek Park.  The registration fee is $260 per team that includes a soccer jersey for each player and tournament prizes to be awarded at a season ending tournament on August 14-15.

Games will consist of 7 vs 7 with each half lasting 25 minutes. Registration deadline is by 5 p.m., June 9th.  All players must be 18 years old & up.  For more information, registration or placement onto a team, please call Worley at 452-6789 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
