Budget public hearing scheduled for June 1 Print
Solid Waste presentation, other meetings also planned

 

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 1 in the Historic Courtroom of the Haywood County Courthouse in Waynesville. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive public input on the Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2010-11.

 

Information on the proposed budget is available on the county website and hard copies are available in the County Manager’s Office and the Finance Office, both of which are located in the Courthouse.

 

Preceeding the Public Hearing at 4 p.m., commissioners will conduct interviews with applicants for the Agriculture and Activities Board. Immediately following the Public Hearing, commissioners will hold a Work Session in the Historic Courtroom. The purpose of the Work Session is to receive a presentation on proposed changes to Solid Waste operations, based on recommendations from the Solid Waste Advisory Committee and to receive public input on those recommendations.

 

At 2 p.m., Friday, June 4th, commissioners will hold a Work Session on the Proposed FY 2010-11 Budget in the Historic Courtroom. Commissioners are expected to vote on the budget during their regular meeting at 9 a.m., Monday, June 7th in the Historic Courtroom.

 

This meeting schedule was approved by commissioners during their May 17th regular meeting. In addition, commissioners approved moving the dates for two upcoming meetings. Commissioners will meet at 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 28th, instead of June 21st. In addition, commissioners will only meet once instead of twice in July. The meeting will be held at 9 a.m., Monday, July 12 in the Historic Courtroom.
