The draft of the 2017 Smoky Mountain Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update is now available below for public review and comment. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the counties of Cherokee, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Swain (including the jurisdictions within) are currently engaged in a planning process to become less vulnerable to natural disasters. Your participation is important to us! This federally required plan, developed with funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), ensures that plan participants remain eligible for hazard mitigation project funding.
