Applications accepted through 5 p.m. for Board of E&R Print

Applications for the Board of Equalization and Review will be accepted until 5 p.m. today, due to the weather-related closure of county offices on Feb. 12 and 13.

Application forms may be downloaded from the Online Services section of the county website, www.haywoodnc.net; or picked up from the CountyManager’s Office, Haywood County Courthouse, Third Floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition to returning the application by 5 p.m. today, applicants must be available to be interviewed by the Board of Commissioners on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, beginning at 4:15 p.m. Any additional applicants will be called later today to schedule an interview.

The purpose of the Board of E&R is to hear appeals to the value placed on real property for 2014 tax year. The board will hear appeals based on a meeting schedule established by the Board of Commissioners. The Board of E&R has seven vacancies.
