Public input sought on Solid Waste Plan Print

The Haywood County Solid Waste Department will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 in the Historic Courtroom of the Haywood County Courthouse, located at 215 N. Main Street in Waynesville.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive public input on proposed updates to the County’s Solid Waste Management Plan, in accordance with N.C. General Statute 130A-309.09A (b) for the purpose of meeting local solid waste needs and protecting public health and the environment. The Haywood County planning document provides for the management of solid waste and its reduction for the next 10 years. The planning area includes Haywood County and its municipalities, Canton, Clyde, Maggie Valley and Waynesville.
