Flood Ordinance Public Hearing set for Jan. 23 Print

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 23 in the Historic Courtroom, located in the Haywood County Courthouse, 215 N. Main Street in Waynesville, NC. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public input on proposed revisions to Haywood County’s Flood Hazard Development Ordinance, adoption of new flood maps and a flood insurance study, as required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The revised Flood Hazard Development Ordinance is available for review on the county website. In addition, copies of the ordinance are available for review in the County Planning Office and the County Manager’s Office. Copies of the new flood maps and the flood insurance study are available for review in the County Planning Office, located at 1233 N. Main Street in Waynesville.
