POSITION: Processing Assistant III

LOCATION: Haywood County Health Department

SALARY RANGE: $21,914.74 - $32,872.67

GRADE: 57

Description Of Duties: Direct service to the public as primary receptionist for the Health Department.  Must have knowledge of the functions of the health department, community medical services, and other resources.  Duties include a courteous and knowledgeable interaction with the public, in person and by phone, demographic data entry, and maintaining confidentiality.

 

Examples of Duties:

Serve as receptionist for the Health Department.

Must have ability to organize work and be flexible with changes in day to day operation of Department.

In and out processing of clients.  Search, type, and verify/update demographic and insurance information for encounters with clients.  Receives payment for services.

Computer programs: Windows XP, Visual Health Net, HIS, ability to learn new programs.

Basic math, computer, spelling, grammar and vocabulary skills are required.  Operation of office equipment; copier, fax machine, switchboard, PC.

Communicate effectively in person and by telephone.

Be tactful and courteous in day to day contact with the general public.

Provides switchboard relief.

 

Minimum Education And Experience: Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
