Commissioners to consider resolutions to abandon, add roads Print

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners will consider two resolutions related to secondary roads at its next meeting at 9 a.m., Monday, July 12 in the Historic Courtroom of the Haywood County Courthouse, 215 N. Main Street, in Waynesville.

One resolution is in response to a petition from area residents asking commissioners to request that the North Carolina Department of Transportation take  Secondary Road # 1828 out of its maintenance system. The second resolution is also based on a petition from residents, asking the NCDOT to add a private road known as Eddie's Trail to its maintenance system.

Once the NCDOT has completed an evaluation of each request, the County will schedule a hearing to receive public input. For more information, contact the Haywood County Planning Office at 828-452-6632.
