The Adult Placement Prevention Services Unit provides services necessary to fulfill the legal mandate of North Carolina in assuring that adults who are disabled and/or aged and are fragile or vulnerable, are protected and receive services to remove the factors of placing them in danger.  Adult Protective Services are necessary to protect disabled adults, who are vulnerable to abuse, neglect or exploitation.

Adult Day Care:

Provides organized program of services during the day to support adults’ personal independence and socialization at the Haywood County Adult Day Care.  Adult Services unit is responsible for monitoring, inspecting and certifying these programs through state mandates along with certifying eligible participants for the State Adult Day Care Fund.

CAP/DA:

Community Alternatives program for disabled adults-services provided to Medicaid eligible adults who are designated as skilled nursing level to provide in-home services to help maintain individuals in private living arrangements.

SA In-Home Program:

Provides an alternative to placement in an adult care home for Medicaid eligible individuals who could live at home safely with additional support services.  Includes extensive assessments and service planning with cash payments made to the eligible individuals for services needed.
