On April 5, the Haywood County Board of Commissioners has approved an Architect Services Agreement with Padgett & Freeman Architects, PA, for $6.1 million to renovated the former Walmart building in the Paragon Parkway shopping center to the Haywood County Department of Social Services, Health Department and Permitting Services. The Agreement spells out the architect’s responsibilities and scope of services, the County’s responsibilities and costs associated with each part of the renovation project.

 

In addition, commissioners approved a Preliminary Design Schematic Floor Plan and timeline for the project. The timeline calls for the County to receive construction bids and award the contract in November, with construction beginning in December. The project is expected to be completed by August 2011.renovation of the former Walmart building to house to begin in December 2010.
