The Haywood County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council is seeking proposals to provide services to Juvenile Court-involved youth in Haywood County.


The JCPC anticipates funds from the North Carolina Dept. of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (DJJDP) in the amount of $149,905. Qualified programs will serve delinquent and at-risk youth for the state fiscal year 2009-10, beginning on July 1. Local public agencies, 501©3 nonprofit corporations and local housing authorities are invited to submit applications (Program Agreements) for programs that address the following elements:


  • The services provided meet one or more of the following criteria: Mentoring, Interpersonal Skills, Restitution/Community Service, Structured Day Programming, Group Home, Temporary Shelter Care.
  • The program targets one or more of the following known risk factors for juvenile delinquency and repeat delinquency: Known Use of Alcohol/Drugs, School Behavior Problems, and/or Parental Supervision.
  • The program addresses one or more of the following concerns as reported in a Needs Assessment for Court-Involved Youth: General Peer Relationships, Mental Health Needs, Substance Use/Abuse, Parental Supervision Skills, Peer Relationships at School.
