There is no co-pay and no time off required to access the Wellness Center. Co-pays will not be charged to the employee or dependent for services provided through the Center. Employees who are seen during the workday at the Center will not have to use sick or comp time provided that they return to work the same day.

The Center will assist the disease management program by advising and guiding employees/dependents with chronic disease states, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

The Center will provide education on healthy lifestyles.

The County has contracted with Haywood Regional Medical Center to operate the Wellness Center. Direct oversight will be provided by David Stegall, Director of Urgent Care, HRMC.

While the goal of the Center is to provide a convenient place for employees and their dependents to visit for routine health care needs, it is not meant to replace your relationship with a primary care physician. You are free to go to your primary care physician whenever you choose and the Wellness Center will refer patients to their primary care physicians when appropriate.

If you have any questions, concerns and/or suggestions about the Wellness Center, please do not hesitate to contact Human Resources Director Susan Layton at 452-6764 and/or David Cotton, County Manager at 452.6625.
