Share the Warmth Print
About Haywood County Government - For Your Information

Efforts are underway to raise funds to help keep Haywood County citizens safe from cold temperatures and heating choices that might expose households to an increased risk of fire. Several community agencies and local media have combined efforts and started early to collect funds to help with weatherization projects; stock up on blankets, warm coats, robes and slippers, and to build up the funds used to cover heating costs for those in need.

By purchasing a Share the Warmth card for $1 or a button for $5, you are doing your part to avert what many think will be a crisis situation this winter due to rising fuel costs and reduced charitable giving. The cards and buttons are available from Mountain Projects, Haywood Christian Ministry, The Salvation Army, the Town of Waynesville and United Way.

If you want to give more, contributions are being placed in a special fund at Mountain Projects called “Share the Warmth.” Contributions may be mailed to Mountain Projects Community Action Agency, 2251 Old Balsam Rd., Waynesville, NC 287876.
