SALARY RANGE: $23,930.81 – $35,896.22

Description Of Duties: Clerical and receptionists duties in a fast paced office environment.  Serves as clerical support to the dental staff.  Responsible for third party billing, including Medicaid and Health Choice.  Determine financial eligibility for private pay patients in accordance with sliding fee scale.  Must have knowledge of the functions of the health department, community medical services, and other resources.  Duties include a courteous and knowledgeable interaction with the public, in person and by phone, while maintaining confidentiality. 

Examples of Duties:§         Serve as receptionist for the Dental Clinic§         Must have ability to organize work and be flexible with changes in day to day operation of clinic§         In and out processing of dental patients§         Calculation of fee to be charged using a sliding fee scale§         Billing and accounts receivable§         Maintain appointment book for the dentist and hygienist§         Maintain a central filing system for the Dental Clinic§         Type with accuracy at 45 correct wpm§         Knowledge of office practices and procedures§         Computer programs: Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2000, Eagle Soft, Visual Health Net, ability to learn new software programs§         Compile information based on general instructions§         Place records, reports, and files into proper sequence§         Basic math, computer, spelling, grammar and vocabulary skills are required§         Communicate effectively in person and by telephone§         Be tactful and courteous in day to day contact with the general public§         Operation of switchboard§         Learn and apply a variety of guidelines as applicable to the work process 

Minimum Education And Experience: High school graduation and two years of office assistant/secretarial experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
