General Description of Position: This position with the HAYWOOD COUNTY RECREATION DEPARTMENT will develop, organize, implement and promote a variety of year-round recreational and athletic programs for County citizens of all age groups.

Minimum Training and Experience: Requires graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration or a closely related field; some professional experience in municipal or county recreation and athletic programming preferred; or an equivalent Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration or a closely related field; some professional experience in municipal or county recreation and athletic programming preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience; and a valid NCDL or ability to attain in 90 days after hire.

Work Hours/Benefits: This is a permanent full time position. Work hours vary according to recreational program schedule and will include some nights and weekends. All county benefits such as health, dental, drug, life, retirement, 401(k), vacation and sick leave.

Salary: The pay grade assigned to this position is 65 with a salary range of $30,743.27 – 46,116.02.
