Two convenience centers to close temporarily for paving Print
News - Latest

The Haywood Convenience Centers located on Hwy. 276 in Bethel and Hwy. 276 in the Jonathan Creek area will be closed for a few days over the next two weeks to allow for paving.

The Bethel Convenience Center is scheduled to be closed April 15-17. Citizens who normally use this convenience center for recycling and household trash may want to use the Hwy. 110 Convenience Center as an alternative on those days. The center is expected to reopen on Friday, April 18.

The Jonathan Creek Convenience Center is scheduled to be closed April 22-24. The Mauney Cove Rd. Convenience Center, located off of Hwy. 276, will be the closest available alternative on those days. The center is expected to reopen on Friday, April 25.

All 10 Haywood County Convenience Centers are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. In additional to household trash, the following items are recyclable at each convenience center:

  • Aluminum cans
  • Catalogs, magazines, newspapers, telephone books, third class mail and other paper products, such as grocery bags
  • Corrugated cardboard and household cardboard boxes (cereal, cracker, cake mix)
  • Plastic bottles and jugs
  • Steel cans
  • Clear, green and amber glass bottles and jars
  • Used motor oil
