The Haywood County Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings at the beginning of its regularly-scheduled meeting  at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2008 in the Commissioners’ Board Meeting Room (Room 3451) in the Haywood County Justice Center, 285 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC.

The first hearing is for public input on proposed changes to the Haywood County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 158: Slope Ordinance. A copy of the ordinance with the proposed changes is available for review between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays in the following locations:

  1. County Manager’s Office; Phone – (828) 452-6625;
  2. County Engineer’s Office; Phone: (828) 356-2114;
  3. The Waynesville and Canton branches of the Haywood County Public Library during normal operating hours.

The proposed changes may also be reviewed on the county website (www.haywoodnc.net) on the County Engineer’s page. The purpose of the second hearing is for public input on a proposed ordinance to restrict only registered sex offenders from entering certain lands or facilities designated by the Haywood County Board of Commissioners, entitled Haywood County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 98: Child Safety Zones. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for review between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays in the following locations:

  3. The Waynesville and Canton branches of the Haywood County Public Library during normal operating hours.
