Applicants sought for Health and Human Services Board

 

The Haywood County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill the following positions on the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency Board of Directors:

 

  • An engineer member, to begin serving March 15, 2018.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate have qualifications as an engineer and reside in Haywood County.  Current and retired engineers are encouraged to apply.  The candidate will be filling a 4 year term that expires March 15, 2022.  At that time, candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term.
  • A pharmacist member, to begin serving March 15, 2018.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate have qualifications as a pharmacist and reside in Haywood County.  Current and retired pharmacists are encouraged to apply.  The candidate will be filling a 4 year term that expires March 15, 2022.  At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term, while second-term candidates will cycle off the Board, as members may only serve two consecutive four-year terms.
  • A member representing the general public, to begin serving March 15, 2018.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate resides in Haywood County. The candidate will be filling a 4 year term that expires March 15, 2022.  At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term, while second-term candidates will cycle off the Board, as members may only serve two consecutive four-year terms.
  • A veterinarian member, to begin serving March 15, 2018.  Requirements for the position are that the candidate have qualifications as a veterinarian and reside in Haywood County.  Current and retired veterinarians are encouraged to apply.  The candidate will be filling a 4 year term that expires March 15, 2022.  At that time, first-term candidates will be eligible to reapply for a second four-year term, while second-term candidates will cycle off the Board, as members may only serve two consecutive four-year terms.

 

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018. Application forms may be downloaded from the Online Services section of the county website, www.haywoodnc.net; or picked up from the County Manager’s Office, Haywood County Courthouse, Third Floor, 215 North Main Street, Waynesville, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
