Allens Creek Park
1725 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville

Allens Creek Park is the County’s first developed facility and was built with a grant from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund on land leased from APAC/Harrison Construction Division of Tennessee. Phase I was completed August 2003 which included four multipurpose fields and a paved .4 mile walking path. Phase II was completed July 2004 and included a concession stand, restroom facility, paved parking, and playground.

Community partnerships provided resources to further enhance the park. During 2006, the Waynesville Rotary Club built a pavilion with assistance from AYSO Region 572 and NEO Corporation. AYSO also provided funding for playground equipment, park benches, wood fencing and a storage building.

An official bocce court was the Eagle project for Graham Ebaugh through collaboration with Haywood County Special Olympics. Senior Games as well as Special Olympics bocce practices and local competitions are now held at the park. Bocce equipment is available for check out at our office.

To reserve the pavilion, please call the HCRP office at 828-452-6789.
