Income Maintenance Caseworker II-Food and Nutrition Services
Pay Grade 63        $13.72 per hour
Temporary Position-20 hours per week-Hours to be determined as needed
FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH 06-30-2011 or until funds exhausted

The primary purpose of the Family Financial Support-Food and Nutrition Services Intake and Case Management Unit is to provide qualifying individuals/families with an avenue to apply for Food and Nutrition Services (Food Stamps).

Primary Purpose of the Position:
This position will be assiged to the Food and Nutrition Services Program Area and will provide general and specialized support. 

Some of the duties are listed as follows: Completing Food and Nutrition Services reviews-assigned by FNS Lead Worker or Supervisor, Preparing Food and Nutrition Services cases to be scanned for electronic storage and creating bar codes for scanning, Keying simple FNS changes, Providing coverage for First Floor Receptionist during lunch, vacation and sick leave,
Checking SDX and Bendex reports and documenting which cases require no action taken, Assisting FNS caseworkers with SSN enumeration an VA match reports, Assisting FNS caseworkers with third party verifications and/or other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good mathematical reasoning and computation skills.  Ability to communicate with clients, applicants and the public to obtain data.  Ability to understand the needs and problems of clients/applicants. 

Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science or a closely related curriculum; OR Graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such experience being in an Income Maintenance program; OR Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Additional Requirements:Must have NC Driver's license and access to a vehicle.  Must have clean driving record with no more than three points showing on current DMV record.
Training/Experience: Experience with Windows and Excel preferred.
